Maribeth Arena, LICSW

DUE TO COVID-19 WE ARE ALL CURRENTLY WORKING OFF-SITE. WE ARE SEEING OUR CLIENTS VIRTUALLY ON HIPPA-COMPLIANT PLATFORMS.

I am a non-judgmental, seasoned therapist who has come to believe that developing a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship with my clients is fundamental to personal growth and change. Moreover, I believe that feeling connected, productive, and able to engage in things that bring joy and peace are the fundamentals to gaining a sense of well-being in the world.

I have an eclectic style and strength-based perspective on people and the situations we find ourselves in during the course of our unique and complicated lives. In my work I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches, e.g. psycho-educational, relational and dynamically informed psychotherapy, cognitive-behavioral and mindfulness based interventions, and expressive arts therapy. Through focused listening, reflection, observation, and sharing my knowledge base, I collaborate with clients in developing a plan for the work that best fits their needs –this might include developing concrete strategies together, a short-term intervention, or longer-term therapy.

Having worked for over 25 years in both private and community-based practice with a diverse population of individuals facing a myriad of life situations, I have client experience with young adults, individuals with developmental challenges, parenting concerns, as well as women and men dealing with loss, grief, life transitions, and/or obstacles toward self-actualization, whether that be related to clinical symptoms or existential experience.

In my free time I enjoy books, music, the natural world and my dog.

Currently I accept Self-Pay, PPO Out of Network, BC/BS and Tufts Commercial Insurance Plans.
